This piece is my acknowledgement of the influence of the trumpeter Miles Dewey Davis (1926 - 1991) on my music, both on my compositions and my jazz style as a guitarist.
As strange as this may sound, I was always influenced as much by the space Miles left in his improvisations as the notes themselves. Jazz, especially in the be-bop era, was a style that involved a lot of notes - often played very fast! - but Miles always seemed to be searching for a cooler approach, and the space in between the notes becomes a statement as much as the music itself.
